7. Regarding best paper awards
1. Please download and complete the Springer LNCS copyright form.
Please follow the sample when completing the copyright form. Please scan the signed copyright form and include it in the zip file of your paper source files. Note that Springer does not accept electronic signatures so the copyright form must be signed manually.
How to fill out the copyright form
Papers do not use the posted template will be returned. The page limit of accepted papers has been changed to 10 pages instead of 8 pages. Each accepted paper can have 10 pages free of charge, while additional two pages are allowed by paying extra page charges for 100 USD each page. On the other hand, Springer will reject the paper if the paper is too short, e.g., less than 6 pages.
3. Must use the correct last name and first name
We have realized that some authors misused their last name and first name when submitting their papers. Please note that your last name is the family name and we must have your correct use of last name and first name in order to have your paper indexed correctly. We all need to index our papers using last name. You do not want to index your papers using your first name.
注意： 许多中文的投稿把名和姓写反了，都必须修改过来，英文的 Last name (family name) = 姓。
4. Deadline for final paper submission: August 20, 2017
This is because Springer will need enough time to produce the conference proceedings and USB proceedings. If we do not provide all final papers to the publisher by this deadline, there is no guarantee for us to get the proceedings before the conference. So, please make sure to upload the final paper source files and pay the conference registration before August 20, 2017.
5. Oral or poster?
Please indicate your preference of oral or poster at the time of final paper submission. We will try to accommodate your request and will inform you later using email when we have the draft of conference program ready. We are working on it now and hopefully to have it ready by the end of the month.
6. Registration information
The deadline for author registration is August 20, 2017. One of the authors of each paper must register and pay the registration fee before the deadline in order to have your paper included in the conference proceedings. Please click on the “Registration” tab to register.
7. Regarding best paper awards
Best student paper awards require nomination from the student’s advisor, by sending an email to iconip2017@foxmail.com with the following details: (1) paper ID number and paper title, (2) list of authors with the student author identified (must also be the first author of the paper to qualify), and (3) a 3-5 sentence description of why this paper should be considered for best student paper award. Award finalists will be chosen by the Award Committee. On the other hand, ICONIP 2017 Program Committee will select from accepted papers for best paper award nomination. Each best paper award comes with 500 USD and each best student paper award comes with 300 USD. We plan to give three awards in each category. All these awards are sponsored by Springer.
8. How to get a visa
We recommend that you apply to a tourist visa to China. It is easier and simpler, which does not require any invitation letters besides the airline ticket info and hotel reservation. However, you can also apply for a business visa, which will require an invitation letter and which is not guaranteed to get. If you need an invitation letter, please send an email to iconip2017@foxmail.com with the following info: (1) Subject of your email: Invitation letter request from Your_last_name/Your_first_name; (2) Your full name; (3) Your date of birth and country of citizenship; (4) Your passport number.
