The joint ISIC/MED 2005 conference will be held in Cyprus one week before the IFAC World Congress in Prague (July 4-8, 2005). Therefore, it is possible to attend the joint ISIC/MED Conference in Cyprus, then spend a few extra days exploring the island (or go somewhere else) and then attend the IFAC World Congress in Prague.
With one registration, it will be possible to attend both conferences (ISIC/MED). The sessions of the two conferences will be held in parallel in the same hotel.
Located in the easternmost corner of the Mediterranean Sea, Cyprus is an island of spectacular beauty with sandy beaches enclosed by rugged cliffs, cool cedar forests, scented orange groves and gentle meadows blanketed in wildflowers. A sophisticated country, whose nine-thousand-year cultural legacy infuses East and West. A historic island, the third largest in the Mediterranean, where modern travelers retrace the footsteps of figures as diverse as St. Paul, Alexander the Great and Leonardo da Vinci. And a romantic island, once Anthony's gift to Cleopatra and where, according to mythology, the goddess Aphrodite first emerged from the sea. Today, Cyprus is a modern country that joins European culture with ancient enchantment. There are many luxurious five- and four-star hotels, and sandy beaches where one can enjoy wind surfing, sailing and snorkeling.
Cyprus can be reached by several major international airlines from European gateway cities. From North America, travelers can break up the journey in the European city of their choice or elect to keep connection time to a minimum. Popular gateways include London, Paris, Amsterdam, Athens, Frankfurt, Zurich, Helsinki, Rome, Haifa etc. In addition, Cyprus Airways provides regular daily flights from many major European and Middle Eastern gateways.
On behalf of the Organizing Commitee, I would like to invite you to participate in the joint ISIC-MED 2005 in Cyprus.
