ORAL PREASENTATION
GUIDELINES
Oral presentations should be prepared to be 16 minutes in length. The
schedule shows 20 minute slots for each paper, but this must include the
presentation, the question period and the transition between speakers. You
cannot plan a 20 minute talk, as this will not leave time between
speakers. Please strictly observe the 16 minute time limit in order to
facilitate people moving between sessions. Session chairs will be
instructed to stop a talk with no questions at 17 minutes. Each oral
session room will contain one overhead projector and one LCD computer
projector with a single standard connection cord. Any presenter using an
electronic presentation must bring their own laptop and have full
knowledge of how to get it working with the LCD projector (there will be
no technical A/V support). If your laptop requires any kind of adaptor,
you will have to provide it. If you have any uncertainty about the
compatibility with the projectors, we recommend that you check the
compatibility by testing the connection with the projectors during a break
period well in advance of your talk), or that you bring your own
projector. We will NOT provide 35 mm slide projectors.
